Meet Noah: A Jeep Owner First, and the Mechanic Who Comes to You

Updated October 2026

Heritage 4x4 Outfitters is one person: Noah, the owner and the mechanic. When you call, you talk to him. When the work gets done, he's the one doing it. He's been working on Jeeps since he was 15, and he built Heritage around the kind of mechanic he'd want working on his own.

The Story

It Started With a 1973 Jeep CJ-5 in Rural South Carolina

Noah bought his first Jeep at 15: a 1973 CJ-5 that needed just about everything. Growing up in rural South Carolina, there wasn't much else to do, so he spent his time learning it, fixing it and rebuilding it. Every problem that old Jeep had, he had to figure out himself.

That's how most good mechanics start: with one vehicle they couldn't afford to have someone else fix. The CJ taught him how a solid-axle front end works, why one worn part takes others with it, and what it feels like to finally drive something you brought back yourself.

From there it turned into years of hands-on work on Jeeps and trucks, and a long run of experience in the Jeep repair industry. Along the way he also worked in a body shop, which is why he's careful about fit and finish on every job, not just the mechanical side.

The Name

Why It's Called Heritage 4x4 Outfitters

Classic CJs are still Noah's favorites, and not just for how they look. They stand for something: simple, tough machines with generations of history behind them, built to be fixed instead of thrown away.

That's where the name comes from. Heritage is about keeping that legacy running, whether your Jeep is a daily driver, a weekend toy or a dedicated trail rig, and whether it's a 1970s CJ or a new Wrangler. The same idea carries over to pickups and SUVs: keep them running right, for as long as you want to keep them.

How Noah Works

A Jeep Owner First: How Our Mobile Mechanic Approaches Every Job

Being a Jeep owner first shapes how Noah works on yours.

He diagnoses before he sells parts. Death wobble is the classic example: it's usually more than one worn part, and swapping the most likely one first doesn't fix it. You pay for the fix, not for guesses.

He shows you what he found. You see the worn part before it comes off, and you hear what it does in plain words.

He tells you what can wait. Not everything worn needs replacing today. A daily driver, a weekend toy and a trail rig need different things, and every recommendation is about keeping yours reliable for how you actually use it.

He doesn't sell you what you don't need. "We'd rather take the time to understand how you actually use your Jeep than sell you parts you don't need." That goes for lift kits and upgrades too: if a simpler part does the job, he'll say so.

He knows where his work stops. Alignments go to an alignment shop, and Heritage works on Jeeps, pickups and SUVs only. When a job isn't one he should take on, you hear that on the first call.

Why Mobile

Why Heritage Is a Mobile Mechanic for Louisville

Noah built Heritage to come to you. Most people can't take a day off work to drop a truck at a shop, so appointments run weekday evenings from 5 to 8pm and weekends from 8am to 8pm, at your home or your workplace, across about 30 miles of Louisville and Southern Indiana.

Running mobile also keeps the price fair. There's no storefront, showroom or front office built into the bill, so labor is $120 an hour, the diagnostic is $120 when there's a problem to find, flat-rate jobs get a free quote, and there's no trip fee. Parts come from the same suppliers shops use, usually in 1–3 days, and Noah brings them to the job.

A few bigger jobs need a shop floor instead of a driveway. Those are by arrangement, so ask. Our how it works page walks through a visit from the first call to the walkthrough, and our mobile mechanic page covers everything we fix at your place.
