How We Work

Mobile Jeep, Truck & SUV Service Without the Drop-Off

Every service on this page happens where your vehicle is parked: your driveway, your garage or your work lot, wherever repairs are allowed. There's no tow, no ride to arrange and no lost day of work. Our mobile mechanic page explains how mobile repair works and what it costs, and our how it works page walks through a visit from the first call to the test drive.

Two ways we price a job:

  • A free quote for jobs where we know what's needed, like brakes, lift and leveling kits and accessory installs, by phone, from a few photos or with a quick stop at your house.
  • A $120 diagnostic when there's a problem to find, like a clunk, a shake or a warning light. You get the cause and a price before any repair.

Parts come from the same suppliers shops use, usually in 1–3 days, and Noah brings them to the job.

Jeep Repair

Jeep Repair Services: Death Wobble, Steering, Diagnostics & More

Jeeps are what Noah knows best, and these are the Jeep jobs we do most.

Death Wobble

The violent shake at highway speed after a bump, found and fixed by replacing every worn part, not just the most likely one. See our death wobble fix page.

Ball Joints, Track Bars and Steering

Ball joints, track bars, tie rods, drag links, steering boxes and heavy-duty steering upgrades for Jeeps on bigger tires. See our ball joint and steering repair page.

Engine Diagnostics on Older Jeeps

Check engine lights, stalling and running problems on the XJ, TJ, CJ and early JK, diagnosed at your place for $120. On a JL or Gladiator, engine, transmission and electrical troubleshooting goes to a Jeep dealer, and we'll tell you that up front. Our guide to the Jeep Wrangler check engine light covers the common codes.

Your Jeep, by Model

Each Jeep has its own page with what we see on it and what we fix: the TJ and LJ Wrangler, the JK and JL Wrangler, the Gladiator and the XJ Cherokee.

Brakes & Trucks

Brakes, Suspension & Truck Repair for Pickups and SUVs

The same driveway service covers pickups and SUVs, and brakes on all three.

Brakes

Pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines and fluid on Jeeps, pickups and SUVs. Pads and rotors start at $450, parts and labor. See our mobile brake repair page.

Pickups and SUVs

Brakes, steering, suspension and everyday repairs on the F-150, Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, Bronco and similar trucks. Pickups and SUVs, not semis or commercial trucks. See our mobile truck mechanic page.

Suspension

Worn shocks, control arm bushings, sway bar links and sagging springs, on stock or lifted vehicles. Suspension repair starts at $275.

Work Trucks

Small local fleets of work pickups and vans, serviced after hours in your lot so the trucks never miss a workday. See our fleet maintenance page.

Upgrades

Lift Kits, Armor, Lighting & Truck Accessories We Install

Upgrades get the same care as repairs: the right part for your vehicle, installed properly in your driveway.

Lift and Leveling Kits

Leveling kits and lifts up to 3 inches on Jeeps, pickups and SUVs. Leveling kit labor starts at $200. Lift kit labor, up to 3 inches, starts at $800. See our lift and leveling kit installation page.

Winches, Bumpers and Armor

Winches, bumpers, skid plates, rock sliders and recovery points on Jeeps, pickups and SUVs, from $120 labor. See our winch and bumper installation page.

Off-Road Lighting

Light bars, ditch lights, pods and fog lights, each on its own fused and relayed circuit, from $120 labor. See our light bar installation page.

Truck Accessories

Bed covers, running boards and power steps, hitches and towing setups, racks and more, installed on pickups and SUVs from $120 labor. See our truck accessories page.

Everyday Work

Routine Maintenance, Batteries, Exhaust & Electrical Repair

Not every job needs its own page. This is the everyday work that keeps a Jeep, pickup or SUV running, all done at your place. Routine maintenance starts at $120.

Oil and Fluid Changes

Oil and filter changes with the right oil for your engine, plus differential and transfer case fluid service, which matters more on a 4x4 that tows or wheels. We check belts, hoses, fluids and tires on every visit and tell you if anything needs attention. We service automatic transmission fluid, but we don't repair automatic transmissions.

Batteries and Charging

A dead or weak battery gets tested along with the alternator and the charging system, so we replace the part that's actually failing. No tow and no guessing.

Air and Cabin Filters

Engine air and cabin air filters, usually done with an oil change. A clean engine filter protects power and fuel economy, and a fresh cabin filter keeps dust and pollen out of the cab.

Belts, Hoses and Cooling

Worn serpentine belts, cracked hoses, leaking water pumps and thermostats on Jeeps, pickups and SUVs. An overheating Jeep is a common call, and a cracked hose is often the cause.

Exhaust

Loud exhaust, rattles or fumes: we find the leak and repair or replace pipes, mufflers, clamps and hangers. We install direct-fit parts; we don't bend custom pipe.

Electrical

Dead circuits, bad grounds, wiring faults, switches, and lights or accessories that quit working. Not every electrical job can be done in a driveway, so call first and we'll tell you honestly whether we can take it.

Body and Trim

Damaged bumpers, fenders, grilles, panels and trim pieces removed and replaced. Noah has a body shop background, so replacement parts fit and line up right. We replace parts; we don't do filler or paint.

Pre-Purchase Inspections

Buying a used Jeep, pickup or SUV? We'll look it over before you pay for it, within our service area. Call for the price; a pre-purchase inspection has a flat charge plus mileage, since it isn't a repair visit.

Scope

What Our Mobile Mechanic Service Doesn't Cover

We'd rather tell you now than after you've booked.

  • Vehicles: Jeeps, pickups and SUVs only. We don't work on cars, minivans or crossovers, or on semis, box trucks and other commercial trucks.
  • Alignments and tires: after steering, suspension, lift or leveling work, we'll tell you when you need an alignment and send you to an alignment shop. Tire mounting, balancing and rotation go to a tire shop.
  • Automatic transmissions: we service the fluid but don't repair them.
  • Camera and radar recalibration: when a newer vehicle needs it, it goes to a dealer or a shop with the equipment.
  • Specialist work: remote start, stereos and sound systems, spray-in bed liners, window tint and wraps go to specialists.
  • Roadside and emergency calls: we schedule visits on weekday evenings and weekends; we're not a breakdown service.
  • Bigger jobs that need a shop floor are by arrangement, so ask us about yours. Our FAQ covers which ones.

We come to homes and workplaces within about 30 miles of Louisville: Jefferson, Oldham, Bullitt, Shelby and Spencer counties in Kentucky, and Clark and Floyd counties in Indiana. Our Louisville mobile mechanic page covers the city.
